USA: Second Heroic Feat: NYPD Officers Rescue Man at Carroll Street Station
This week, two New York City police officers, known for their recent heroic actions, came to the rescue once again when a man fell onto the subway tracks at the Carroll Street F/G subway station. While inspecting on Tuesday, the officers witnessed the 55-year-old man lose his footing and tumble onto the tracks. Swiftly responding, one officer descended to the tracks to support the man, who was standing but unable to climb back onto the platform and complained of pain. The second officer efficiently pulled the man to safety, and in a seamless operation captured on body camera footage, both officers were back on the platform within a minute.
The footage revealed the man explaining, “I fell, I must have slipped off,” as the officers attended to him. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) transported the injured man to a local hospital, citing hip and body pain. Remarkably, the officers emerged unharmed from the incident.
This heroic duo had previously made headlines in October when they responded to a 911 call about a person possibly in the water in Erie Basin. Teaming up with the Harbor Unit, they successfully rescued a 20-year-old woman clinging to a pier, who was subsequently transported to a local hospital in stable condition. The recent subway rescue adds another chapter to these officers’ commendable track record of saving lives in critical situations.
The same @NYPD76Pct cops are at it again!
Yesterday, Officer Garcia and Officer Mohan were conducting an inspection at the Carroll St subway station when they saw a man fall onto the roadbed. They rushed over there and helped him up, once again saving the day! https://t.co/vKPqxgks6H pic.twitter.com/7TfISNUrdz
